Attempting to provide healthy meals that won’t empty the pocketbook can be difficult to find! Beyond that, I knew that I was missing out on time with my family. For those with older children, I can feel that the stress of rushing home from work, connecting with kids, running errands or doing schoolwork, a quick meal (sometimes at home) and heading off to bed is too much! I have always loved grocery shopping, saving money, and meal planning. Once I put that into a regular pattern, our lives have been more peaceful and less expensive! I realize that meal planning is not something most people love…so, instead of watching you suffer through it, I have decided to make it super easy for you as well! I want to invite you to start eating healthier, as a family, with inexpensive meals! Is this possible? Yes! I am here to tell you that it is! Our family (my husband, daughter and I) is able to eat at home every night of the month and not spend over $200/month on dinner – that’s under our budgeted amount! And, we have stuff leftover if we want it for lunch! I can be in and out of the grocery store in record time because everything is on my easy to navigate list and we eat healthier because of the meal options! We’ve been doing this for the last 6 years! When I first moved out on my own, and then got married, I took a nutrition class and started reading some nutritional books. I also started making meal plans that worked within our very tight budget. At the time I started, my husband and I were both taking classes and we lived on part time wages. It became a game – figuring out the healthiest foods I could get for the price I needed. I love it and want to share these skills with you so you too can eat healthier and stick to your grocery budget!
