Not long after I launched my initial Writing Help Central Web site, it quickly became apparent that a large number of my visitors were looking for help writing their business letters. I found that a little strange at first, since I knew that there were already quite a few business writing resources "out there" on the Internet. However, I didn’t have to do too much research into what was already "out there" to understand why people were still looking for business letter help. In fact, I was appalled by what I found out there! It turns out that the vast majority of online business writing resources put an overwhelming emphasis on "quantity" rather than "quality". The approach seems to have been to throw marginal value "volume" at the customer, instead of helping them improve the quality and effectiveness of their business letters. Just to check, I purchased a couple of the most widely advertised packages containing "hundreds" of so-called business letter templates. Well, I’m sorry to report that these products leave a great deal to be desired. (And, believe me, I’m being kind here!) In fact, most of these unformatted generic fill-in-the-blank templates were so sub-standard, that I seriously had to wonder if the people who drafted the letters had ever actually written ANY "real-life" business correspondence!
