Let’s face it, training and taking care of a new pet rabbit is tough!

There’s no doubt, it’s probably the most difficult lesson for any rabbit owner to learn. I’ve come across way too many folks who think pet rabbits are like dogs or cats… it’s no wonder that 70% of abandoned rabbits are done so after only 3 months!

Let Me Tell You About One Of The Saddest Days Of My Childhood

When I was 8 years old my parents gave me the cutest little white dwarf rabbit in the world for my birthday.

That’s right... the whole wide world! =)

You see, I’d been begging and pleading with them after seeing one at my school’s animal fair.

I named her “Suzie Flowers” and wanted to hold her close and cuddle every time I laid eyes on her.

Here’s the thing: I know now that’s one of the biggest mistakes beginner rabbit owners will make.

Why?

Because rabbits are panicky by nature and very fragile-- if they’re not trained properly and you (or your child) don’t know how to hold them correctly, your rabbit could be seriously or even fatally injured!

And that’s exactly what happened to Suzie Flowers. I squeezed her so hard – of course it didn’t feel as hard to me – that her spine broke!

My parents told me she died because I loved her too much.

I remember being heartbroken for the longest time and couldn’t understand why she died.

Of course, I don’t blame my parents for what happened… they didn’t understand all that was necessary to take care of a rabbit.

But this could have easily been avoided.

Since my tragic accident with Suzie Flowers, I have been on a mission to make sure that bunnies are raised safely with only the best care...

I can say this now from experience: Take care of your bunny the right way and I promise you will have an unimaginable connection and the sweetest relationship with your bunny.

This will be so much better and deeper even, than with a dog or a cat.

The big problem is most books on the subject are filled with what I call “encyclopedia knowledge”.

They’re so busy talking about “rabbit origins” and listing the Latin names for rabbit breeds but there’s not enough practical, hands-on, stuff you can take with you and use immediately with your rabbit.
