What Every Client Should Know About Hypnosis and Self-Hypnosis.

All hypnosis is not equal, and not every person is equally "susceptible" to all types of hypnosis, but, everybody does respond to suggestion. The question is, what type of suggestions will have the most profound effects on you? Hypnosis comes in many styles, and there are some common misconceptions about it that I’d like to clear up.

Until now your ability to access a Hypnosis Professional has probably been somewhat limited. You basically had two choices. One was to wait for, or try to find a hypnosis seminar at a local hotel. The other was to try and find a qualified hypnotist and pay for expensive personal sessions.

The Pros and Cons of Each

The seminars are affordable but not readily available, often held in crowded hotel rooms and usually promoted by a "nutrition company" as a means to acquire a "captive audience" for a "nutritional support" product to compliment the hypnosis. Most people aren’t aware that the multi million dollar nutritional supplement company (The Nutramerica Corporation) is owned by Goen Hypnosis Seminars. The Trim Spa (think Anna Nichole Smith) weight loss product line was developed as as back of the room "up-sell" at his hypnosis seminar.

The seminar format is usually as follows, You pay first, roughly $50.00 to get in, then you get a two hour sales pitch, followed by a half hour sales break so you can get the product NOW "before we run out" (prices range from a $40.00 tape to a $600.00 "total support package") finally some hypnosis (usually a 20 minute "one size fits all" script) followed by an end of the evening special discount on leftover products.

A seminar hypnotists job is to sell products, and often the seminar presenter isn’t a hypnotist at all but a sales professional instead. Usually the person at the front of the room in a hypnosis seminar has no hypnosis training at all other than being taught HOW TO READ A HYPNOSIS SCRIPT. (yes,and believe it or not, some of them are so lame that they actually have to be "tutored" to read the script)

The good news, Hypnosis works. Even with the all the distractions, hypnosis seminars have a long track record of success documented by years of testimonials from seminar participants. Whatever hypnosis seminars are, or aren’t good for, they do represent to how easy it is to be hypnotized, and have been a "first step" into learning more about hypnosis for thousands of people.
