I know first hand because I have lived with this often misunderstood disorder for over twenty five years. At the age of six I started to have facial and body tics. As I got older it worsened. The problems I had included excessive blinking, eye rolling, throat clearing, nail biting, touching objects etc. During my late teens while I was at college, things started getting really tough. I went to see my doctor a few times about my tics. The first couple of times the doctor simply said that it was nothing to worry about and that it would soon pass. Well it didn’t. Eventually he got me to see a couple of specialists in this field. Although these therapists tried, they couldn’t cure my problems. I also tried alternative therapies such as acupuncture and homeopathy, but unfortunately none of them helped. That’s when I started spending hours almost everyday trying to find a cure to my problems, and then eventually after around ten years of research I managed to easily cure my mind numbing disorder without any type of medicine or side effects. Over the years I noticed that some medical specialists in this field labelled the problems I had as Tourette’s syndrome while a few called it OCD, which is short for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.
